Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) moved approximately 4,259 BTC worth $343.67 million to crypto exchange Crypto.com on November 5, 2026. The large-scale transaction from Donald Trump’s media company immediately drew market attention as the funds were drawn directly from a debt collateral wallet.
Data from on-chain tracking platform Arkham Intelligence shows the asset transfer occurred in two tranches around 02:17 UTC. The first transfer carried 2,140.03 BTC, followed by a second transfer of 2,119.31 BTC. Both transactions originated from a wallet labeled ‘2028 Convertible Notes Collateral’ and were sent to the same Crypto.com deposit address beginning with ’34jvU’.
The movement of funds serves as a notable signal coinciding with the company’s approaching debt deadline at the end of November.
1.38-Coin Difference from Second-Quarter Collateral
The amount of coins transferred almost exactly mirrors TMTG’s own accounting records. In its second-quarter financial report, the company reported holding 4,260.73 BTC worth $250.46 million as of June 30, 2026, as collateral for convertible notes. Today’s transfer of 4,259 BTC is just 1.38 BTC shy of the total collateral figure listed in that official report.
On-chain tracker Lookonchain identified the fund flow and highlighted the potential for open market sales. Concerns over asset liquidation appear increasingly justified given disclosure documents submitted by TMTG to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on November 2, 2026. In that filing, TMTG warned that noteholders hold the right to demand full cash repayment on November 30, 2026.
The financial obligation originates from convertible notes issued in May 2025 with a principal value of $1 billion and a 4% discount. Through the debt issuance, TMTG raised gross proceeds of $960 million. Creditors now possess a contractual right to claim repayment entirely in cash rather than converting to equity.
Option to Sell as Cash Reserves Dwindle
TMTG management acknowledged that available cash reserves risk being insufficient should all creditors simultaneously demand cash repayment. The company emphasized that selling Bitcoin or other digital assets in its portfolio remains a viable option if refinancing efforts or new loan arrangements reach an impasse.
Liquidity pressures come amid unrecovered operating burdens. As of July 31, 2026, TMTG’s total Bitcoin holdings stood at 14,139 BTC. Meanwhile, the company’s second-quarter earnings report posted a net loss of $238.1 million, narrowing management’s room to maneuver in securing fresh capital outside of crypto asset sales.
Previously in May and August 2026, TMTG transferred 2,650 BTC and 2,628 BTC, respectively, to Crypto.com. During both periods, management denied any selling had taken place, stating that the transactions were strictly custody management and trading strategies.
However, the current situation differs as the company faces the maturity clause of a $1 billion cash demand directly. For crypto market participants, the arrival of 4,259 BTC in collateral on an exchange serves as a reminder that creditor decisions over the coming weeks could trigger direct spot market liquidations.
