BlackRock Borong Bitcoin $1,33 Miliar dalam Lima Hari - Rekor Arus Masuk Terkuat Sejak Petaka Oktober 2025

BlackRock Snaps Up $1.33 Billion in Bitcoin in Five Days - Strongest Inflows Record Since October 2025 Disaster

Institutional investors are opening their pockets once again. US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted net inflows of $1.92 billion for the trading week ending Friday, August 22, 2026. This figure from SoSoValue marks the strongest weekly performance recorded by the ETFs since October 2025.

This surge in capital coincided with rising prices on exchanges. The price of Bitcoin surged sharply from the $63,000 range early last week and briefly broke the $79,000 level on Friday, before its buying momentum began to cool down. The increase of more than 20% in seven days broke the market deadlock.

Of the total $1.92 billion in inflows, BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was the most dominant driver. The ETF product contributed $1.33 billion through consecutive purchases over five consecutive trading days. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas described IBIT’s inflow pattern as a “classic Flipping the Bird pattern” - a technical signal he considers bullish for the price.

This flow of money did not stop with Bitcoin. Ether ETFs also attracted $700 million during the same period. ETF analyst Nate Geraci noted that both crypto investment products have now recorded their highest weekly inflows in the last ten months.

The Shadow of October 2025

These multi-billion-dollar inflow figures look convincing on paper, but the short-term history of the crypto market holds a dark record. The previous largest wave of ETF inflows occurred in October 2025, when the market attracted $3.42 billion in capital within a week. While that figure sparked optimism, what followed instead dealt a blow to speculators.

That massive flow of funds came just before a severe crash hit the market on October 10, 2025. The crash wiped out $19 billion in leveraged trader positions in just 24 hours. Retail traders who bought at the peak had to watch their portfolios evaporate as prices fell mercilessly.

The traces of that crash are still felt today. Since Bitcoin marked a price of $124,700 on October 6, 2025, its price trajectory has shrunk by 38%. Cumulative calculations for this year also show that the market has not fully recovered. Although Bitcoin ETFs just recorded a massive weekly rebound, the year-to-date record for 2026 still bears a net outflow of $2.91 billion.

Lessons from the Liquidation Peak

For day traders, this $1.92 billion injection of funds provides new ammunition to maintain the upper price boundary. Balchunas’ comments and the flow of money entering BlackRock show that institutions are ready to buy again after a prolonged market slump.

However, the challenge for Bitcoin holders today is the strength of the trend itself. Institutions previously accumulated billions of dollars right before a liquidation trap consumed thousands of retail traders last fall. This week’s new record is no guarantee that prices will rise indefinitely - rather, it is an alarm for traders to pay attention to who holds control if a sudden wave of selling comes crashing down.
