Next week promises additional supply for the altcoin market. The CoinMarketCap calendar, via DefiLlama data, shows that Aptos (APT) is scheduled to release 11.31 million tokens on August 12, 2026, at 02:00 UTC. This figure is equivalent to 0.54% of their total current supply.
Three days later, on August 15 at 17:00 UTC, Arbitrum (ARB) is reportedly following with an unlock schedule for 0.93% of the total circulating supply in the market.
It is important to note that the unlock schedules for both layer-2 projects are still purely based on community tracking reports. As of writing, there has been no official statement from either Aptos or Arbitrum regarding the details of these token releases. Nonetheless, market participants continue to monitor this timeframe closely.
Selling Pressure Test
Large-scale token unlocks from infrastructure and layer-2 projects always bring new dynamics. Based on historical trends, the entry of new supply into circulation has the potential to trigger short-term selling pressure for the respective tokens.
This occurs because recipients of the newly unlocked tokens often choose to cash out a portion of their assets on the open market. For APT and ARB holders, price movements around this timeframe are worth monitoring closely to see how the market absorbs this additional supply.
Why is Cyber Closing Its Wallets?
Amid the anticipation of the Aptos and Arbitrum unlocks, the Cyber project took a major operational step on the same date. The blockchain project announced plans to shut down its two flagship products, CyberWallet and Passkey Wallet, on August 15, 2026.
Users have been requested to withdraw all their assets from both platforms before the shutdown deadline. The decision to decommission these consumer wallet products marks a turning point in the project’s core strategy. They have now chosen to focus on building crypto artificial intelligence infrastructure and developing a product suite named Surf.
The period from August 12 to 15, 2026, has now become a convergence point for three crucial events. Two major projects are preparing to release new supply, while another project is shutting down services to embrace a different business focus. The market will test how the narrative of these token releases interacts with daily altcoin price sentiment.
