Samsung Rombak Wallet Demi Dukung Stablecoin - Tapi USDC Muncul di Panggung Tanpa Kemitraan Resmi

Samsung Revamps Wallet to Support Stablecoins - But USDC Appears on Stage Without Official Partnership

A new move to bring crypto into the pockets of millions of daily users has just been announced. On stage at Galaxy Unpacked in London on July 22, 2026, Samsung Product Manager Lee Dinham confirmed that Samsung Wallet will soon support stablecoins. This native integration aims to expand the digital wallet’s functionality beyond storing cash or standard payment cards.

This is not merely a software update, but an effort to turn smartphones into a medium for digital value transactions without intermediaries.

USDC Teaser on the Presentation Screen

During the London presentation, the stage screen briefly displayed a wallet interface mockup featuring Circle’s USDC. Interestingly, there has been no official statement confirming Circle as a launch partner for the new feature so far. The mockup teaser provides a strong signal as to which stablecoin will likely lead the integration when the update rolls out.

Samsung’s familiarity with blockchain assets dates back several years. In 2019, the company began offering crypto storage capabilities supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, and Stellar networks. They later expanded their reach by partnering with crypto exchange Coinbase. This partnership streamlined crypto purchasing for 75 million Galaxy device users across the United States. Stablecoin support now arrives to complement the evolution of their financial application.

Private Key Control and Hardware Isolation

One crucial question left unanswered by Lee Dinham’s announcement is the custody format. Samsung has not detailed whether this stablecoin feature will adopt a third-party custodial system or a purely non-custodial model allowing users to maintain full control over their private keys. Clarity on this setup will determine the degree of financial sovereignty granted to phone users.

While key management mechanisms have yet to be disclosed, the asset protection architecture is confirmed. The stablecoin integration will be safeguarded by Samsung’s proprietary Knox security infrastructure. Operating as a hardware-isolated vault on the smartphone, stored assets can only be accessed through verification steps such as PIN entry or biometric fingerprint scans by the device owner.

For users within the Galaxy ecosystem, this maneuver further blurs the line between physical wallets and digital payment tools. Holding and spending stablecoins from a phone is poised to become a daily routine, as effortless as unlocking the screen.
