Advocacy group Stand With Crypto has officially declared its support for 32 US House of Representatives members running for re-election in the November 2026 midterm elections. The organization, founded by Coinbase in 2023, is directly targeting bipartisan politicians who helped pass the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) in the House last year.
This support comes with full financial backing. Various crypto industry groups have committed nearly $200 million for the 2026 election cycle, the majority of which is channeled through the Fairshake super PAC and its network of affiliates. On the Republican side, an affiliate named Defend American Jobs reportedly spent nearly $512,000 to secure the position of Bill Huizenga, who recently won his party’s nomination in Michigan’s 4th congressional district.
The Democratic side also received similar funding. Protect Progress, Fairshake’s affiliate for Democrats, channeled around $1.5 million to support Ritchie Torres’ campaign in New York. This figure was further bolstered by a $300,000 injection from Fellowship PAC to ensure his seat remains secure.
Battles in Tight Seats
The list of 32 members of Congress includes central figures from both parties, including Republican Tom Emmer (Minnesota) and Democrat Josh Gottheimer (New Jersey). Stand With Crypto Executive Director Mason Lynaugh emphasized that his organization’s current priority is to ensure that members of Congress who support the CLARITY Act can secure their seats again.
This priority is becoming increasingly urgent as several endorsed candidates face tight battles in their districts. The positions of Juan Ciscomani in Arizona and Brian Fitzpatrick in Pennsylvania are currently on the list of the most competitive contests, making every bit of financial support and vote crucial.
Stand With Crypto itself claims that its registered supporters in the US have reached 3 million, up from 2.7 million in May. Their internal polling shows that 59% of crypto owners do not affiliate themselves with a single political party. In fact, nearly half of the respondents stated they are ready to support pro-crypto candidates even if they hold different views on other issues outside of crypto.
Breaking the Senate Blockade
Securing these House seats is actually part of a long-term strategy to save the CLARITY Act. The bill passed convincingly in the House with a 294-134 vote in July 2025. However, its progress ground to a halt upon entering the Senate, stalled by intense debates over stablecoin reward rules, DeFi oversight limits, anti-money laundering (AML) standards, and a code of conduct.
The political calculus in the Senate is far more complex. A bill requires 60 votes to overcome the filibuster rule, meaning Republicans absolutely need additional support from Democratic senators, even if all Republican members fully support the draft legislation.
Lynaugh mentioned that his group will only announce specific endorsements for Senate candidates as election day approaches. For now, the crypto industry prefers to shield its longtime allies in the House from being unseated. Armed with hundreds of millions of dollars and a voter base willing to cross party lines, crypto lobbyists are sending a clear message to Washington politicians about the cost of regulation.
