CEO Matt Cole officially announced the purchase of 1,800 BTC worth approximately $143 million on Monday, September 1, 2026. Strive, an entity originally co-founded by entrepreneur-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy, acquired the coins at an average price of $79,431 each. This addition brings their total holdings past 23,156 BTC, representing a reserve value of around $1.76 billion based on the reference price in the company’s disclosure filing.
The average purchase price for the latest batch slightly outpaced the prevailing market price. Bitcoin traded around $78,600 on Monday, leaving the estimated value of Strive’s new holdings near break-even for now. The accumulation continues the company’s past investment activity, when it recorded an $81 million Bitcoin purchase executed alongside an equity offering to investors.
Following the Treasury Reserve Model
Strive’s move following its merger with Asset Entities and its Nasdaq listing under the ticker ASST solidifies a much broader trend. A growing wave of public entities is aggressively adopting strategies to shift portions of their wealth into Bitcoin. This corporate business practice closely mirrors the treasury model first pioneered by Michael Saylor under the Strategy banner.
The buying maneuver by Cole’s team aligns with the return of several corporate players to the transaction table. Strategy broke a nearly two-month buying hiatus with a reported $370 million coin acquisition. In a different asset space, analyst Tom Lee’s Bitmine business unit also completed an Ethereum accumulation deal with its highest volume since June.
Strongest August Performance Since 2017
The accumulation wave by corporate executives gained traction following a streak of positive market sentiment. While the spot price recorded a slight decline on the day of Cole’s announcement, Bitcoin posted gains of over 24% throughout August. The price surge in the eighth month marked the strongest monthly close performance since 2017. This record price resilience provides public company executives with a stronger case to confidently allocate corporate reserves into digital assets.
This series of large-scale corporate purchases affirms that Bitcoin holds fundamental utility beyond speculation. Publicly listed companies are now injecting substantial capital into on-chain treasuries, establishing a protective shield for their balance sheets against future monetary competition.
