Modal $680 Juta Mengalir ke Kripto Asia Tenggara di 2026 - Tapi 60% Jatuh ke Tangan Satu Perusahaan

$680 Million Flows into Southeast Asia Crypto in 2026 - But 60% Went to a Single Company

Data from Tracxn shows that blockchain companies in Southeast Asia raised $680 million throughout 2026, up 113% from $319 million in 2025. Behind that headline figure, however, the number of funding rounds dropped sharply from 46 deals in 2025 to just 25 rounds this year.

Crypto.com secured a $400 million Series D funding round from Citadel Securities in July 2026, which alone accounted for 59% of all capital inflows into the region. Excluding that single mega-round, the remaining 24 projects in Southeast Asia shared just $280 million. The $680 million total this year also remains 69% below the 2022 peak, when the region recorded 206 funding rounds totaling $2.2 billion.

Capital Flows to Financial Services and Singapore

The crypto financial services sector led investment flows this year, pulling in $498 million across 19 deals, marking a 48.4% increase compared to last year. Tokenization platforms followed with $114 million, while decentralized application (DApp) platforms captured $77 million in funding inflows.

Out of 3,957 blockchain companies operating in Southeast Asia, 2,285 are headquartered in Singapore. The island nation accounts for 82.5% of the region’s cumulative historical funding of $6.2 billion, having absorbed $5.1 billion in capital. Jakarta ranks second, but the gap is vast, as the Indonesian capital has captured only a 3% share worth $186 million. Singapore’s dominance is further reinforced by crypto exchange Coinbase’s plans to expand its local workforce from 150 to 200 employees before the end of 2026.

How Many Can Survive?

Of the 1,323 crypto companies in Southeast Asia that have received equity funding, only 167 have advanced to Series A rounds or beyond. The funnel narrows further down the line: only 50 companies have reached Series B, 14 have made it to Series C, and just 4 players have managed to break through to Series D and above.

Southeast Asia is currently home to six blockchain unicorns, including prominent names such as Sygnum, Bitkub, Sky Mavis, and Amber Group. For projects reaching the end of their business cycles, acquisitions have dominated exit routes, with 43 M&A transactions recorded compared to just 4 initial public offerings (IPOs). On the corporate acquisition front, Japanese financial services firm SBI Holdings completed its acquisition of crypto exchange Coinhako in 2026.

While the $680 million regional funding figure represents a doubling of capital this year, without the massive cash injection into Crypto.com, capital distribution across mid-sized startups in Southeast Asia’s Web3 ecosystem remains highly uneven.
