Publicly traded investment firm Evernorth has officially appointed four institutional partners to manage its reserve of 473 million XRP tokens. The company, which is listed on the Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN, has partnered with Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase, and BitGo to execute its treasury strategy, with initial capital deployment scheduled for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026.
The move is designed to generate active yield from digital asset holdings while continuing to accumulate XRP, aiming to increase the token-per-share ratio for public market investors. Evernorth CEO and founder Asheesh Birla stated that this step realizes efforts to make company cash reserves productive (putting our treasury to work).
During the initial phase, Evernorth’s investment and risk teams are executing institutional strategies through Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase, and BitGo under rigorous benchmarks. All fund allocations must meet the regulatory compliance and periodic reporting standards required of Nasdaq-listed public companies.
Where Did the 473 Million XRP Come From?
Evernorth’s 473 million XRP portfolio originated from its merger with Armada, a transaction that also yielded approximately $300 million in gross cash proceeds before transaction expenses.
Merger disclosure filings detail the token holdings across four tranches: Ripple contributed 126,791,458 XRP, sponsors deposited 211.32 million XRP, and 50 million XRP came from related-party transactions. In addition to those allocations, Evernorth directly purchased 84.37 million XRP on the open market valued at $214 million at an average price of $2.53657 per token.
A roster of institutional investors also injected capital and digital assets into Evernorth. This investor consortium includes Arrington Capital, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, and GSR, alongside Ripple and Kraken.
Plans for the XRPL Lending Market
Leveraging centralized exchanges and custodians is merely the initial phase. In the subsequent stage, Evernorth plans to allocate treasury assets directly into decentralized finance (DeFi) credit and lending markets operating on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) network.
The expansion plan into on-chain DeFi comes with strict conditions. Evernorth will only deploy capital after XRPL’s native lending functionality secures validator approval and demonstrates stable operation, ensuring the network’s native credit protocol is thoroughly tested before accepting institutional capital.
New Dynamics for XRPN Shareholders
Equity investors are now offered a new way to gain XRP exposure without the complexities of managing self-custody wallets. The value of holding XRPN shares hinges on management’s ability to put assets to work to generate token yield.
For capital markets, Evernorth’s move serves as a test case for whether a public company’s crypto treasury can be deployed productively without running afoul of exchange regulations. The success of this strategy now depends on execution in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the operational readiness of lending features on the XRP Ledger.
