Mastercard Satukan Fiat dan Stablecoin ke Satu API - Taruhan Nyatanya Menyiapkan Transaksi Mandiri Agen AI

Mastercard Unifies Fiat and Stablecoins into Single API - The Real Bet Prepares for Autonomous AI Agent Transactions

Mastercard has rolled out its first major integration since acquiring stablecoin infrastructure firm BVNK for approximately $1.8 billion in August 2026. Through the launch of the Mastercard Global Money Platform, the company provides global accounts that unify fiat currencies and stablecoins within a single application programming interface (API). Businesses, banking institutions, and fintechs can now hold, convert, manage, and spend both monetary instruments side by side without needing to build separate infrastructure.

For businesses and banks, the platform cuts the technical complexity of accounting between conventional dollar balances and digital dollars.

Conversion Rails to 200 Countries and Spending in 130 Regions

The Mastercard Move money movement network connects the new system to global banking infrastructure. Through this connection, stablecoin balances can be converted and sent directly to recipients’ local bank accounts in more than 200 countries. This cross-border payout reach is projected to cover more than 40 local currencies by 2027.

On the direct payment side, businesses can issue debit cards and payment cards backed by stablecoin balances. These cards can be spent across millions of merchants on Mastercard’s network in more than 130 countries, providing a practical route for digital dollar liquidity to be spent at brick-and-mortar stores and online marketplaces without manual conversion.

Five payments and financial technology companies have already joined as launch partners. Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem, and Almond FinTech have integrated this single API into their operational infrastructure to process customer fund flows.

Preparing Transaction Wallets for AI Agents

Mastercard’s long-term vision extends beyond human-driven transactions. Raj Dhamodharan, Executive Vice President of Blockchain and Digital Assets at Mastercard, stated that the platform is designed to usher in a multi-money era. One of its top priorities is providing a transactional foundation for artificial intelligence (AI) agents to conduct autonomous commerce (agentic commerce), alongside supporting tokenized deposits.

As AI systems begin ordering inventory, paying for compute, or executing business contracts without human intervention, they require programmable accounts. Integrating stablecoins and tokenized deposits gives artificial intelligence units direct access to the global commerce ecosystem.

Open Competition with Visa in the Institutional Market

This expansion strengthens Mastercard’s position in terms of regulatory compliance. The company previously secured a New York BitLicense for stablecoin and tokenized deposit operations, a stringent license that legitimizes its digital asset operations within United States jurisdiction.

The combination of the New York license and this new product launch puts Mastercard in direct competition with Visa’s institutional stablecoin platform. For financial industry players, digital dollar adoption has now shifted into a competition to build the core infrastructure connecting fiat money with digital assets on their daily balance sheets.
