A public filing update on October 19, 2026, revealed that seven new corporations have rejected the listing of their tokenized shares on the OKXICE exchange. Three of them include Microsoft, Google parent Alphabet, and investment bank Goldman Sachs. Four other issuers joining the same filing are Qualcomm, Caterpillar, McDonald’s, and Western Digital.
OKXICE is a tokenized stock trading platform developed through a collaboration between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The platform is designed to trade tokenized equities via Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on the XLayer network, with transaction settlement in USDC and USDT.
The addition of the seven new issuers brings the rejection tally to 16 companies. In the previous week, nine issuers had voiced similar objections: Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth, Cerebras Systems, AppLovin, Applied Digital, Rocket Lab, and Applied Optoelectronics.
Why Chief Financial Officers Are Opting Out
OKXICE operates under a five-year Innovation Exemption from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued in September 2026. While this regulatory framework paved the way for tokenized stock trading, it retains the right for issuers to object or opt out.
Chief financial officers (CFOs) have exercised this clause due to reluctance over having their company shares traded 24/7 in thinner, more volatile markets. A primary concern among executives stems from the absence of best-execution obligations as mandated under Regulation NMS in conventional capital markets.
The Remaining 47 Issuers and Nasdaq’s Rejection Trail
Out of a total of 63 stock tickers representing 62 companies initially prepared for trading on OKXICE, 15 original issuers along with Cerebras Systems have now officially pulled out. This leaves 47 issuers that have yet to file an open objection.
A stance of keeping distance from OKXICE was previously taken by Nasdaq as well. The rival exchange chose not to include its shares due to the absence of consolidated tape reporting, in addition to Nasdaq’s own preparations to pilot tokenized securities.
For crypto market participants anticipating the convergence of real-world assets, the coordinated pushback from these blue-chip issuers highlights that SEC approval does not necessarily ease the caution of public corporations when bringing their equities onto on-chain venues.
