36-Hour Nonstop Format, Three Competition Tracks
The event runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, totaling 36 hours without long breaks. Participants can choose from three tracks: Classic or From Scratch, where teams build projects from an empty repository starting on the first night; Extend Open Source, for developers looking to build new features on open-source projects they already maintain; and the Ship a Feature track. Each team consists of one to five members, with a maximum limit of three sponsor SDKs allowed per project.
Over $125,000 in Prizes from Major Sponsors
The total prize pool exceeds $125,000, backed by major Ethereum ecosystem sponsors such as 1inch, Uniswap Foundation, The Graph, Yellow, Sui, World, Hedera, 0G Labs, and ENS. The event is expected to draw over 600 developers from various countries, and for accepted participants, attendance is completely free - including meals, WiFi access, and venue use throughout the event. Registration closed on July 10 due to high demand, leaving all remaining spots exclusively to those who passed the organizers’ strict selection process.
ETHGlobal is no newcomer to the global hackathon calendar. Throughout 2026, they have scheduled a series of similar events across various cities, spanning Cannes, New York, and Lisbon as the third flagship, continuing to Tokyo in September and Mumbai in the final quarter of the year.
