Fairshake Belanja $46 Juta untuk Singkirkan Sherrod Brown - Kursi Ohio Jadi Target Termahal Industri Kripto

Fairshake Spends $46 Million to Defeat Sherrod Brown - Ohio Seat Becomes Crypto’s Most Expensive Target

Crypto super PAC Fairshake has deployed approximately $46.66 million to unseat Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown in the 2026 elections. That sum makes Brown the most expensive political target across the digital asset industry’s campaign agenda in the United States. The stakes in Ohio represent more than just a regional contest; they are seen as a decisive factor in Washington’s financial policy direction.

Ad Spending Breakdown Against Sherrod Brown

Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings dated October 15 reveal details of the political expenditures. Fairshake affiliate Defend American Jobs booked $5.2 million in media buys opposing Brown. Just days later, the group directed an additional $1.95 million toward media ad slots, excluding campaign production costs.

In the same FEC filing, Defend American Jobs also directed financial backing to Jon Husted, the Republican challenger who assumed Ohio’s Senate seat after being appointed last year. The 2026 election cycle marks the second chapter in the rivalry between both sides. In 2024, Fairshake spent roughly $40 million to help defeat Brown, who was then serving as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and had previously blocked crypto market structure legislation.

$6 Million Commitment Across 32 House Seats

Fairshake’s influence extends well beyond Ohio. On October 5, the political action committee announced official endorsements for 32 incumbent House members, divided into 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. Fairshake pledged an initial commitment of $6 million, allocating $1 million to each of the first six candidates.

All 32 lawmakers receiving financial support share a common track record: they voted to advance the Clarity Act. The crypto market structure bill passed a House vote in July 2025, but deliberations later stalled in the Senate. Reshaping the makeup of Congress has now become a primary mission for Fairshake to ensure crypto market regulations no longer stall on the legislative floor.

$120 Million War Chest and Regulatory Stakes

Fairshake’s capital reserves stem from three primary backers: exchange Coinbase, Ripple, and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. Fairshake entered September with roughly $120 million in cash on hand, and the organization is expected to spend over $100 million financing House and Senate races. Alongside that effort, Coinbase operates advocacy group Stand With Crypto, which released its own midterm endorsement slate.

The industry’s high-stakes gamble is anchored in Senate leverage. If Brown is re-elected, one of crypto’s most vocal opponents would regain substantial influence over the Banking Committee. For crypto holders and industry participants alike, the outcome at the Ohio ballot box will determine whether the US Congress delivers clearer ground rules or tightens scrutiny once again.
