Tiga Bank Terbesar Wall Street Kompak Lirik Tokenisasi - Tapi Belum Satupun Berani Buka Angka Pendapatan

Three of Wall Street’s Largest Banks Eye Tokenization - But None Dare Disclose Revenue Numbers Yet

Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and Morgan Stanley struck a unified tone during their third-quarter 2026 earnings calls: asset tokenization is viewed as a fresh business opportunity rather than a revenue-eroding threat. Three of Wall Street’s largest institutions are positioning distributed ledger technology as a future distribution channel rather than a mere laboratory experiment.

Lessons from the Stock Exchange 50 Years Ago

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon emphasized that tokenization opens opportunities to introduce new products, expand transaction volumes, attract new clients, and broaden distribution. Solomon dismissed concerns that digital assets would cannibalize Goldman’s trading business.

Solomon drew a comparison to the transition to electronic stock trading roughly 50 years ago. While market participants initially feared that technological shift would eliminate stockbrokers, it ultimately multiplied Goldman’s equities business.

Goldman has developed its own tokenized asset platform, GS DAP, since 2022 to handle bonds, money market funds, and real estate. In July 2026, Goldman participated in testing tokenization services with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) - the clearinghouse that settles quadrillions of dollars in transactions annually. Even so, Solomon acknowledged that these activities remain small and on the fringes, declining to disclose any revenue figures.

Two-Minute Transfers Without Physical Branches

At Wells Fargo, tokenized deposits have already entered live production to settle cross-border payments. Transferred funds arrive in the recipient’s account in two minutes or less.

Wells Fargo CFO Michael Santomassimo noted that volumes remain small for now. However, the geographic opportunity is significant for Wells Fargo, which lacks an extensive international branch network, allowing tokenization to bridge that gap without requiring physical offices abroad.

Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley CFO Sharon Yeshaya noted that tokenized systems streamline asset transfers without displacing financial advisors. Clients still require investment advice, leading Morgan Stanley’s wealth management division to see an opportunity to expand advisory services instead.

What Market Size Is Actually Being Targeted

This banking interest coincides with a 79-page report titled “Breaking the Wall” by Citrini Research. The research firm, which typically analyzes artificial intelligence and broader technology, reinforces the legitimacy of the real-world asset (RWA) narrative among conventional Wall Street investors.

The target global payments market indeed spans trillions of dollars. Fiscal 2025 data shows Visa processed $12.3 trillion, while Stripe handled $1.9 trillion. It is this immense transaction scale that Polygon and other blockchain players are aiming for alongside their banking partners.

All three banks have yet to issue revenue targets because the initiatives remain in the exploratory phase. For crypto industry participants, Wall Street’s new direction makes one thing clear: institutional adoption is advancing not by displacing traditional banks, but by bankers leveraging on-chain efficiency to broaden their own business reach.
