Solana Dua Tahun Bebas Mati Jaringan - Tapi Fidelity Ingatkan Penumpukan di Segelintir Validator

Solana Marks Two Years Outage-Free - But Fidelity Warns of Stake Concentration in Few Validators

Solana’s mainnet has experienced zero operational outages over the past two years. This resilience record was highlighted in a report by Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology (FCAT). In the report, Fidelity noted that Solana has made significant progress across three core pillars of network health: resilience, economic security, and performance.

Two of these three pillars are supported by real-world usage metrics. Solana features low latency, expanded capacity, and cheap transaction fees that support practical use at scale. On the economic side, network security is backed by substantial staking participation and an incentive structure that rewards validator performance. However, a clean two-year track record has not resolved every concern.

Risks Concentrated Among a Few Operators

Fidelity noted several risks that the community needs to keep monitoring. The first points to stake concentration, which remains clustered among a small number of validator identities and operators. When the share of staked coins is concentrated among a few entities, consensus control becomes narrower than the surface validator count suggests.

The next risk involves physical infrastructure and software. Fidelity found concentration among hosting providers running validators, as well as concentration in the client software used by the network. Relying on few hosting and client choices leaves the network vulnerable if a single provider faces issues. Consequently, FCAT has placed these areas of concentration on an ongoing watchlist.

Pursuing 150-Millisecond Finality

Amid evaluations of its decentralization, Solana continues to push technical efficiency. On August 21, 2026, the network reduced slot time to 350 milliseconds. According to Jacob Creech, VP of Technology at the Solana Foundation, this cut represents the first slot time reduction since the Solana network was established.

That reduction serves as the prelude to a series of upcoming updates. The Solana Foundation plans to decrease slot time further to 200 milliseconds. This target will be achieved through three subsequent reduction phases, each by 50 milliseconds, which are already part of the foundation’s development schedule.

The most aggressive speed target is set through the Alpenglow upgrade, scheduled to launch on October 21, 2026. This architectural overhaul targets transaction finality down to 150 milliseconds. The figure is designed to ensure transaction confirmations happen almost instantly, complementing the ongoing slot duration reductions.

For network users, 150-millisecond transactions with cheap fees offer obvious day-to-day convenience. But for asset holders locking capital in staking, tracking validator distribution remains an important reminder: high speed must not come at the cost of allowing network control to pool among a handful of operators.
