Grayscale Bawa Zcash ke Bursa Saham NYSE - Tepat Setelah AI Temukan Celah Koin Palsu

Grayscale Lists Zcash on NYSE - Right After AI Uncovers Counterfeit Coin Flaw

Zcash has officially secured a place on mainstream stock exchanges. Grayscale’s Zcash ETF began trading Tuesday on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH, making it the world’s first exchange-traded product to offer spot exposure to Zcash (ZEC).

ZCSH traces its roots back to the Grayscale Zcash Trust, established in October 2017. The nine-year-old investment vehicle converted its structure after Grayscale filed an application with the SEC in November last year. The ETF conversion decision previously drove ZEC prices to an eight-year peak of $836 when news first surfaced.

Four-Year Flaw Uncovered by AI

The stock market debut comes several months after the Zcash network had to patch a critical security flaw. Security researcher Taylor Hornby utilized Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.8 artificial intelligence model to discover a vulnerability in Zcash’s Orchard shielded pool. Remaining undetected for four years, the flaw opened the door for outside parties to mint counterfeit ZEC coins.

Developers immediately deployed an emergency patch on June 1. Due to the robust privacy features shielding transaction histories, there is no cryptographic evidence confirming whether the vulnerability was ever exploited by hackers before the fix went live.

To permanently eliminate the vulnerability, Zcash activated the Ironwood upgrade in July 2026. This network upgrade replaced Orchard with a new shielded pool and introduced stringent accounting rules. The protocol now prevents total ZEC exiting the legacy pool from exceeding the amount deposited, trapping potential counterfeit coins in quarantine so they cannot reach the open market.

High-Risk Satellite Position

Grayscale’s Head of Index, Steve Vanourny, believes Zcash’s appeal lies in its similarity to the oldest cryptocurrency. He noted that Zcash shares a monetary design akin to Bitcoin, running on a proof-of-work algorithm with a hard cap of 21 million coins. ZEC’s distinct value proposition stems from its optional privacy technology, which Bitcoin lacks.

Despite their shared design foundations, Vanourny positions ZCSH as a high-risk satellite asset to complement a Bitcoin portfolio, rather than a replacement. Grayscale is targeting both self-directed investors and advisor-led clients, providing direct ZEC exposure through standard brokerage accounts.

Its status as the first spot ETF puts Zcash alongside major crypto assets on Wall Street. The network’s toughest challenge now is convincing traditional market participants that its privacy layer no longer harbors similar vulnerabilities.
