Crypto trader Machi Big Brother (@machibigbrother) has suffered another full liquidation on the Hyperliquid platform. The event occurred in the early hours of Oct. 18, 2026 UTC, roughly four hours before on-chain analytics account @lookonchain shared its report on X.
Two days before his positions were forcibly closed by the system, Machi deposited 250,000 USDC onto the platform. Within 48 hours, the deposit was completely wiped out by adverse price movements. Yet the loss of 250,000 USDC in capital within days is merely the tip of a much deeper financial reversal.
How 250,000 USDC Was Wiped Out in Two Days
On-chain records shared by @lookonchain show that Machi’s account was unable to maintain margin requirements as the market moved against his positions. The 250,000 USDC posted as collateral was gradually eroded until it reached zero. A full liquidation was automatically triggered in the early hours of Oct. 18, 2026 UTC, closing all of his open positions on the exchange.
The outcome stands in stark contrast to his track record from a year ago. At that time, Machi recorded a $44.84 million profit on Hyperliquid. His massive position sizes previously placed him among the most profitable traders on the exchange.
Now, the entire $44.84 million profit is gone. His trading history on Hyperliquid has swung to reflect an additional loss of $36.85 million. Measured from the peak, the account has suffered a drawdown of more than $81 million - turning a top-performing trader into a cumulative net loser.
A Recurring Pattern Amid Market Pressure
This latest liquidation is not the first for Machi Big Brother. The use of the word ‘again’ in @lookonchain’s report highlights a recurring cycle for the account. An aggressive, highly leveraged trading strategy has consistently left him vulnerable to being wiped out whenever price volatility moves against his expectations.
Market conditions at the time of the liquidation were also under dual pressure. Capital outflows from US spot crypto ETFs reached $610 million. During the same period, US producer inflation stood at 6.3%, triggering caution among macro investors and weakening appetite for risk assets.
For day traders, Machi’s history offers a stark lesson on the limits of capital endurance. Tens of millions of dollars in profits cannot guarantee account survival when positions are forced against market trends without stop-loss discipline. In derivatives markets, large accounts remain subject to the exact same margin rules as retail traders.
