Fitur Privasi Baru XRPL Pertaruhkan $530 Juta Aset Wall Street - Begini Nasib Saldo Institusi

New XRPL Privacy Feature Puts $530 Million in Wall Street Assets at Stake - Here is the Fate of Institutional Balances

The latest version of the XRP Ledger, XRPL 3.3.0, was released this week, bringing six new amendments. However, one update has taken center stage: a privacy feature called Confidential Transfers. This amendment is specifically designed to encrypt balances and transaction amounts on Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPT), a tokenization format marketed by Ripple to institutional bond and mutual fund issuers.

The implementation of this privacy feature does not completely obscure transactions. Account identities and the types of tokens being transferred remain visible to the public on the ledger. Only the amount of coins held and the transaction value are hidden. The system operates using zero-knowledge proof cryptographic methods.

Targeting Wall Street Institutional Money

Currently, more than $530 million in tokenized assets are held on the XRPL network. This figure excludes the circulation of the RLUSD stablecoin. The value is concentrated among a handful of issuers that have transitioned their assets into crypto format.

One of the main players is Aviva Investors. Last month, the firm launched a tokenized share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund product on XRPL. The move follows the announcement of their partnership with Ripple in February 2026. With Confidential Transfers, entities like Aviva have the tools to protect the privacy of their clients’ money flows.

In addition to privacy, XRPL 3.3.0 brings other amendments to complement institutional operations. There is a Batch feature that allows up to eight transactions to be packaged into a single bundle with an all-or-nothing mode - cancel one, cancel all. Then there is the Sponsor feature, which enables one account to pay network fees for another. The update also introduces Permission Delegation, which grants limited authorization without surrendering full control, and Dynamic MPT, which allows issuers to modify their token properties post-issuance.

Speed Increases, Waiting for Green Light

On the technical side, version 3.3.0 reduces node overhead. This update saves memory usage by 10% to 15% and speeds up the node synchronization process.

However, this entire suite of amendments is not yet active. To take effect, the update requires continuous support from at least 80% of the network’s trusted validators for two weeks. If that threshold is not met within this timeframe, the new code cannot be deployed.

The real test will not only be the validator voting results. The biggest question is whether Aviva, Ondo, or other institutions that have already minted assets on XRPL will choose to encrypt their balances once the door is officially opened.
