Ray Dalio Minta Investor Beli Bitcoin Hadapi Utang AS $40 Triliun - Padahal Dulu Cemas Soal Kuantum

Ray Dalio Advises Investors to Buy Bitcoin Amid $40 Trillion US Debt - Despite Past Quantum Concerns

Ray Dalio has recommended that investors allocate a “little Bitcoin” alongside a 10% to 15% gold allocation in their investment portfolios. This advice comes as the United States national debt surges to $40 trillion. The founder of Bridgewater Associates, with an estimated net worth of $15 billion, detailed his recommendation in a LinkedIn post on Friday, August 21, 2026.

This guidance places Bitcoin directly on par with the world’s oldest hedging instrument.

A Three-Year Window to Crisis

Dalio is not merely outlining concerns without a timeline. He predicts that the US debt crisis will erupt within the next three years, with a margin of plus or minus two years. This timeline has one absolute condition: a crisis will definitely occur if the country’s policy direction does not change. The $40 trillion debt serves as the foundation of his analysis.

In addition to the ballooning debt, Dalio mentioned two other triggers. He highlighted the risk of domestic political conflict erupting, as well as rising external geopolitical tensions. These compounding pressures prompted him to suggest an overweight position. He advised investors to increase their holdings of assets like Bitcoin and gold, while continuing to reduce exposure to debt-based assets such as bonds.

Why the Sharp Shift in Stance?

Dalio’s current stance on Bitcoin marks a sharp shift from his old sentiment. He was once skeptical and doubted Bitcoin’s capacity to replicate the historical role of gold. He had even expressed concern over transaction privacy on the network. Furthermore, he previously assessed that threats from advancements in quantum computing technology risked undermining blockchain security defenses in the future.

The softening of his view has been recorded progressing year by year. In 2022, he allowed some leeway, calling a 1% to 2% Bitcoin allocation in a portfolio a reasonable move. The phase of his shift became more visible in July 2025. At that time, Dalio openly admitted to holding a little Bitcoin, while also recommending a combined cap on crypto and gold of up to 15%.

His latest LinkedIn post confirms his increasingly bullish tone as the nation’s debt burden accumulates. When a figure who once doubted the cryptographic security of Bitcoin now points to this asset as a store of value, the message lands directly on the desks of retail investors. The decision to restructure the investment basket should not wait until the countdown to the crisis runs out entirely.
