Co-founder Tinder Borong Saham American Bitcoin $1,93 Juta - Padahal Perusahaan Sedang Rugi $57 Juta

Tinder Co-Founder Buys $1.93M of American Bitcoin Shares Despite Company’s $57M Loss

Justin Mateen has just poured nearly $1.93 million of his personal funds into American Bitcoin (ABTC). The board member, who is also widely known as a Tinder co-founder, purchased 306,981 shares of Class A stock in the crypto mining company this week. This move sets his position apart from ordinary investors who merely follow stock price charts.

With the completion of this latest purchase, Mateen’s holdings have jumped significantly. His total share position in the Bitcoin mining entity has swelled to 492,297 shares. Aggressive insider buying maneuvers are always closely watched by the market, especially when transactions are executed just as the company’s reported financial performance is declining alongside changes in executive seats.

Record Production Behind the Losses

American Bitcoin’s current financial situation displays two opposing directions. The Nasdaq-listed crypto mining company recently reported a second-quarter net loss of $57 million. For a public business entity, a loss of this scale puts pressure on the company’s public profile.

However, the reported loss does not reflect their mining operations, which are running at full speed. During the same period, American Bitcoin hit a record quarterly production of 932 BTC. This mining output expanded their asset holdings, which now boast a treasury of over 8,000 BTC. The crypto mining firm also receives direct financial support from Donald Trump’s family, flowing through Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

Who Leaves and Who Stays

Mateen’s decision to increase his million-dollar stake comes as the company’s leadership structure is in flux. American Bitcoin’s former president and acting CFO, Matt Prusak, has reportedly resigned. Prusak stepped down from his position to join Giga Energy.

The combination of a key executive departure and tens of millions of dollars in losses typically triggers a sell-off. However, Mateen went against this selling trend. When an insider risks nearly $2 million of their own money on their company, they are not focused on today’s quarterly losses - they are targeting the treasury of 8,000 BTC, whose value is insulated from market panic.
